Camping at the Tropical Fruits New Year Festival takes the fun and festivities to a whole new level!

It is a fabulous way to meet people, share BBQ’s in the common kitchen area, have spontaneous tent gatherings and enjoy special events such as the ‘Campest Camp’ site competition for the most wondrous camping set up. Just a short walk from the official Festival events and all facilities, camping is a great way to enhance your Tropical Fruits New Year Festival experience.

Tropical Fruits offers a limited number of on-site camping sites at the Lismore Showgrounds for party attendees.

NEW 2017 Camping Set Up

After unprecedented demand for camping in 2016 we are introducing a new simplified camping booking process. This year due to capacity restraints all camping must be pre-booked.

To secure your spot simply purchase a separate camping ticket from this page after booking your party tickets. There is no longer the need to book on a ‘per night’ basis with only 5 ticket options to choose from based on date of arrival. All tickets include camping for 1 person in either a tent or van from the date of arrival with check out any time before the campsite closes on 3rd January.

Camping ticket sales will remain open until 31 December or until capacity is reached. We strongly advise booking early to avoid missing out.

Please note - you will need to provide the order number for your party ticket during the booking process.

VOLUNTEER CAMPERS

Volunteers who are completing 4 or more shifts are eligible for free camping. These volunteers will be sent a unique code to unlock a free camping ticket when their shifts are confirmed via email. Volunteers completing 3 or less shifts will need to pay for their camping, but will not need to provide a party ticket order number in order to book their camping (they will be asked other questions to demonstrate volunteer status). Volunteer applications will be cross-referenced with camping bookings.

BOOKING FAQs

Do I need to pre-book camping?
Yes. Due to the unprecedented demand last year and capacity limitations all camping must now be pre-booked online. Camping ticket sales will remain open until 31 December or until site capacity is reached.

How do I book camping?
The booking procedure for camping has changed and is now sold as a separate ticket though this event page. You can book camping at any time until your arrival while capacity allows.

Alternatively, bookings can also be made by contacting the Tropical Fruits office directly.

What are the new camping ticket options?
The camping booking process has been simplified with 5 ticket options based on date of arrival (27 Dec - 31 Dec). There is now a flat rate for tents or vans and no need to provide a checkout date . Each ticket includes camping for one person from the arrival date on your ticket until the campsite closes on 3rd January. After New Years you will be free to leave any time at your leisure before the campsite closes.

Can I book camping without booking a party ticket?
No. Camping can only be booked by those who have already purchased a NYE Party or 3 Party Pass ticket, or have registered as a volunteer. The order number for these tickets will need to be provided during the camping booking process and will be matched to the party booking. Any bookings found to not have a matching party ticket or volunteer registration may result in being cancelled and refunded (at the discretion of the committee).

Do the two bookings need to be under the same name?
Yes. This enables us to easily search and cross-reference your bookings, ensuring a smoother check in and fewer headaches for our volunteers. If purchasing multiple tickets, please avoid using the 'copy details' function when purchasing your NYE ticket and making your camping booking.

Can I change the name on my ticket?
Yes. It will be possible to change names on a ticket using the edit option in your Eventbrite account until 1st December. After this time any changes can be made by contacting the Tropical Fruits office. Please remember that all camping tickets will be cross checked using the party ticket order number provided.

Can I change my arrival date after booking?
Yes. If you wish to change your booking to an earlier arrival date you can do so in your Eventbrite account by selecting your ticket and using the transfer option to upgrade to an earlier arrival date. After paying the balance you will be issued with a new ticket and your old one will be void. (Changes can only be made by the account used to pay for the ticket).

I’ve registered as a volunteer - how do I book camping?
Volunteers working 3 or less shifts need to pay for their own camping. The standard booking process applies. Volunteers who are completing 4 or more shifts are eligible for free camping. These volunteers will be sent a unique code to unlock a free camping ticket when their shifts are confirmed. To enter this code, simply click on the Tickets button above, then click on the 'enter promotional code' link in the top right corner of the tickets pop up window. Enter the code and a free volunteer camping ticket option will appear. Select this option and proceed as standard.

Can I arrive earlier than the date on my ticket?
Yes. If you arrive earlier than the date on your ticket you can simply pay difference in ticket price at check-in.

Can I pre-book a powered site?
Due to the free layout of camping at Tropical Fruits, particular sites can not be pre-booked. Limited powered sites are available on a first-in basis for $10/night per site, payable upon arrival. Communal power points for recharging are available at camp kitchen.
